The Federal Aviation Administration issued the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRAM), New Pilot Certification Requirements for Air Carrier Operations, to gather information regarding whether "the existing flightcrew eligibility, training, and qualification requirements should be increased for commercial pilots engaged in Part 121 operations." The purpose of the rulemaking is to "improve pilot performance and proefessionalism" of Part 121 flightcrews.
