NATA Statement on the Confirmation of Coast Guard Vice Admiral Peter T. Neffenger
to Lead the Transportation Security Administration

Washington, DC, June 22, 2015 – The following is a statement by National Air Transportation Association President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks following the confirmation by the U.S. Senate of Coast Guard Vice Admiral Peter T. Neffenger to lead the Transportation Security Administration:

“NATA commends the Senate for taking swift action today to confirm Vice Admiral Neffenger as the next Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration. Administrator Neffenger's experience and commitment makes him an excellent choice to lead this important agency through a challenging period in its history. NATA looks forward to continuing its work with TSA to promote the risk-based security programs that are critical to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of airport checkpoint security screening for both crewmembers and the traveling public."
