NATA Statement on the Senate Commerce Committee’s Approval of Christopher Hart to Chair the National Transportation Safety Board
Washington, DC, February 26, 2015 – The following is a statement by National Air Transportation Association President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks on today’s action by the Senate Commerce Committee to approve Christopher Hart to serve as Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Acting Chairman Hart’s nomination must now be considered by the full Senate:
“NATA deeply appreciates Chairman Thune (R-SD) and Ranking Member Nelson (D-FL) for making a committee priority the nomination of Christopher Hart to be Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Chris Hart is an active general aviation pilot who is an industry leader on emerging aviation safety issues. NATA hopes the full Senate will swiftly take up and approve Acting Chairman Hart’s nomination.”
