nullFederal Excise Tax Update

The IRS and Department of Treasury released the 2013-2014 Guidance Priorities List (GPL) late last week.  According to the IRS, the GPL is used to prioritize issues to be addressed through regulations, revenue rulings, revenue procedures, notices and other administrative guidance. Guidance is also used to clarify ambiguous areas of tax law. We are pleased to report that the issue of the application of FET on aircraft management is included on the GPL. This development will now enable IRS officials to proceed to the next step in the guidance process. NATA will keep you updated as more information becomes available on a proposed regulation for comment by the industry. NATA is assured that the IRS officials are aware of the importance that the industry attaches to a prompt resolution of these issues.
