Tell NATA How Your Business Supports the Pilot Community

NATA is continuing its work in support of free enterprise, battling the charge that FBOs and airports are maximizing their respective revenue streams in a manner that is unfair to pilots and the suggestion that FBOs be economically regulated. We have heard from many FBOs regarding how they go out of their way to support the needs of general aviation pilots, even at the expense to their bottom-line. If you have such a story, please contact us today. Your examples assist NATA in its continuing advocacy in support of free markets.

NATA Member Augusta Regional Airport Sees Surge in GA Traffic for Masters Tournament

For a fifth year, Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) commemorated its busiest week of the year with a festival. From April 3rd-10th, "Spring Fest" will entertain travelers entering the main terminal gate area with different local musical acts performing one or more sets. "The week of the Masters is historically one of the busiest weeks at AGS. This provides the perfect venue for artists to showcase their talent and entertain the thousands of people visiting Augusta," Airport Executive Director Herbert Judon said. The annual Masters Week surge hit record levels at Augusta Regional Airport and smaller regional airports last year with a 9 percent increase regionally over 2015, according to Federal Aviation Administration data. The airport typically sees a month's worth of air traffic during the period, and an increase at its FBO, where hundreds of private jets arrive for the tournament. “This year, Augusta Regional will close a taxiway to create an additional 200 aircraft parking spots for Masters Week,” said Ken Hinkle, the airport's Aviation Services Director.
