Washington, DC, December 13, 2024 – NATA (the National Air Transportation Association) issued a statement in recognition of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael Whitaker’s service following the announcement of his resignation on January 20, 2025.
“Michael Whitaker’s focus on U.S. aviation leadership and dedication to collaboration between the Agency and aviation community allowed for much progress in a short period of time. As Administrator, Whitaker prioritized industry input in advancing technologies, fostering safety, and developing the aviation workforce, including considerations for operators in the drafting of the SMS rule for part 135 operations, the timely release of the final SFAR for the safe integration of AAM into the NAS, and work to modernize the approach to mental health in the aviation industry,” stated NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna. “NATA thanks Whitaker for his leadership as FAA Administrator and wishes him much success in his future pursuits. We also look forward to continuing our critical roles as educators and advocates in partnership with the FAA to further advance critical matters for business aviation in the coming year.”
