NATA BOARD OF DIRECTORS VISITS WORLD TRADE CENTER SITE
Alexandria, VA, October 27, 2010 — The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) Board of Directors visited the World Trade Center site during its quarterly board meeting in New York City, NY, earlier this month. The tour, sponsored and coordinated by officials of the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, allowed NATA board members to see current construction and to pay their respects to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
“This tour was an incredibly moving experience for our entire board of directors,” explained NATA President James K. Coyne. “To stand on the highest floor of the newly raised (and still under construction) Tower One and look down at all the progress that has been made in such a short period was remarkable.”
Intense and round-the-clock efforts are currently underway as preparations are made for the 10th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
“The members of the NATA Board of Directors applaud all the men and women working at the World Trade Center site for their tireless efforts in constructing a magnificent memorial,” Coyne stated. “In honor of these efforts and of those who lost their lives on that fateful day in 2001, NATA will be making a donation to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.”
“I would also like to thank officials at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey for coordinating this tour,” concluded Coyne. “NATA and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey continue to have an outstanding working relationship, and we look forward to addressing aviation issues important to our membership and the New York City metropolitan area.”
NATA’s Board of Directors applauds the progress that has been made at the World Trade Center site and is pleased to make a contribution to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
