Washington, DC, January 28, 2025 – NATA (National Air Transportation Association) issued the following statement on U.S. Senate approval of the Honorable Sean Duffy to serve as Secretary of Transportation. Secretary Duffy passed through the confirmation process with strong bipartisan support, unanimously clearing the Senate Commerce Committee and clearing the full Senate in a 77-22 vote.
“NATA congratulates Secretary Sean Duffy on his confirmation to lead the U.S. Department of Transportation and looks forward to partnering with him to further the safety and efficiency of our National Airspace System, while preserving the essential services our industry provides to thousands of diverse communities across the nation. During his confirmation hearing, Secretary Duffy demonstrated a commitment to these shared goals and a willingness to engage with Congress and industry stakeholders to ensure continued U.S. global aviation leadership. Secretary Duffy’s leadership will be critical to timely implementation of Congressionally mandated reforms to improve Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) efficiency and modernize regulatory oversight for NATA’s more than 3700 members.
