NATA Participates In Aviation Rally On Capitol Hill
Alexandria, VA, October 10, 2013 – The National Air Transportation Association (NATA), along with other general aviation organizations, today called on Congress to end the government shutdown, which is now in its 10th day.
“NATA members across the country are feeling the effects of the federal government shutdown. Our industry is heavily regulated and many of NATA members are small businesses with less than 50 employees. The shuttering of the FAA Aircraft Registry and the furlough of thousands of aviation professionals is costing our members, and the aviation community as a whole, jobs and revenue,” said NATA Executive Vice President James W. Coon. “The backlog created by this shutdown will have a lasting detrimental impact on our members’ businesses. An expeditious resolution is crucial.”
Coon participated in today’s Capitol Hill rally, which was hosted by the National Air Traffic Controllers Association.
