Senate Will Vote on Tax Extenders Package Including Bonus Depreciation and Section 179 Expensing
Alexandria, VA, December 5, 2014 – The National Air Transportation Association (NATA), a leading member of the coalition in support of extending accelerated (bonus) depreciation, has been informed by Senate Majority Leader Reid’s office that the Senate will act on a tax extenders package that includes bonus depreciation and section 179 expensing before the lame duck session adjourns. This clarification was made in response to an article that appeared in The Hill last evening attributing to Majority Leader Reid a concern that the Senate might not have time to pass the House tax extenders bill before adjourning.
“While it is likely the Senate will only have time to consider the House package that extends bonus depreciation and section 179 expensing for 2014, we deeply appreciate the efforts of Senators Reid, McConnell, Wyden and Hatch toward a longer extension that will maximize the impact of these investment and job creating provisions and we look forward to working with them on this issue again in 2015,” stated NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks.
