In advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) is hosting a two-part webinar series to help transportation stakeholders prepare to prevent and respond to human trafficking threats. As host cities prepare for increased travel and event activity, transportation systems will play a critical role in recognizing and reporting suspected trafficking across all modes, including road, rail, air, and water.
Sessions will cover practical readiness strategies, key trafficking indicators, DOT resources, and examples of best practices from operators in FIFA host cities.
The webinar series aligns with NATA’s ongoing commitment to raising awareness across the aviation community through its Human Trafficking Awareness in Aviation Certification, available through the Safety 1st Training Center. The online course helps aviation personnel understand common indicators, reporting pathways, and the importance of situational awareness in supporting prevention efforts.
DOT’s webinars will be held on April 23 and April 30, 2026, from 2:00–3:45 PM EDT.
