Aviation Business Advocacy Strengthened on Capitol Hill

Back NATA News / June 9, 2026

NATA members and industry leaders gathered in our nation’s capital on June 3 for NATA’s Day on the Hill, engaging directly with Congressional policymakers on the priorities affecting aviation businesses and the general aviation community.

Participants met with more than 60 Congressional offices representing 19 states, sharing firsthand perspectives on aviation funding stability, air traffic control modernization, aviation safety legislation, and proposed changes to the DLA Energy AIR Card program used to fuel government aircraft at FBOs.

“NATA’s mission is grounded in listening to our members, understanding the operational realities they face, and bringing those perspectives forward with policymakers, regulators, and industry partners,” said NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna. “Day on the Hill is a powerful example of that mission in action, giving aviation businesses the opportunity to share real-world perspectives with federal decision-makers and strengthen NATA’s advocacy on behalf of the industry.”

NATA thanks its Board of Directors, committee leaders, members, and staff for their participation and preparation. Their engagement helps ensure aviation business priorities remain visible, relevant, and well understood in federal policy discussions. NATA also appreciates the Members of Congress and their staff who took time to meet with us and hear directly from the businesses that keep their communities moving every day.
