Back NATA News / September 8, 2026

In the September issue of AvBuyer, NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna reflects on a helicopter journey with General Aviation Manufacturers Association President and CEO James Viola that offered a unique view of America and the aviation businesses and airports that keep its communities connected.

“America at 500 Feet: Aviation’s Place in the American Story” follows their travels through Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri, including visits to Chicago Executive Airport during its 100th anniversary, Duncan Aviation during its 70th anniversary, Castle Aviation, Starke County Airport, West Bend Municipal Airport, and the WingNuts Flying Circus in Tarkio.

Against the backdrop of America’s 250th anniversary, Castagna highlights how general aviation has helped shape the nation’s history and continues to support local economies, connect communities, and create opportunities across the country.
