On August 5th, the FAA released its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Part 108, outlining performance-based regulations to enable the integration and operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) at low altitudes beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). The proposal aims to facilitate more effective use of UAS in sectors such as public utilities, small cargo delivery, and other commercial applications.

NATA is reviewing the proposed rule to assess its potential impact on our members, with a continued focus on the safe and effective integration of emerging technologies and operational requirements that support the broader goals of the aviation ecosystem. We will provide additional guidance as our review progresses. View the NPRM here.
