FAA–TCCA Maintenance Procedures Update (InFO)

Back NATA News / January 20, 2026

The FAA issued an InFO announcing Revision 2 of Information for Operators (InFO) 26001, Maintenance Implementation Procedures (MIP) between the FAA and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCAA). The revision fully replaces the 2019 MIP and became effective January 7, 2026, updating the special maintenance conditions under the U.S.–Canada Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA).

Under the revised MIP, FAA-certified mechanics and repair stations working on TCCA-registered aircraft, as well as U.S. operators using Canadian maintenance providers, are directly affected. Amendments include updated terminologies and procedural clarifications intended to reduce operational ambiguities. Mechanics and operators are encouraged to review the revised special conditions (Sections B and C) and update any required TCCA supplements accordingly.
