The House of Representatives passed several pieces of aviation legislation under suspension of the rules on Monday. The Mental Health in Aviation Act (H.R. 2591), introduced by Rep. Sean Casten (D, IL), would require the FAA to update federal regulations on mental health disclosure and treatment, in consultation with aviation and medical stakeholders. The bill would also direct the Administrator to annually review mental health regulations and policies for pilots and air traffic controllers, as well as implement recommendations of the Mental Health and Aviation Medical Clearances Aviation Rulemaking Committee, which NATA participated in. Lastly, the bill would authorize funds for additional aviation medical examiners and a public information campaign to destigmatize mental health care for aviation professionals.

The Facility for Runway Operations and Safe Transportation (FROST) Act (H.R. 3423), introduced by Rep. Tony Wied (R, WI), would make storage facilities for aircraft deicing equipment and fluids eligible for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funds. Both bills garnered bipartisan cosponsors in the House and have now been referred to the Senate.
