David Cummins begins his tenure as the eighth Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) amid an increasingly complex transportation security landscape. His emphasis on supporting the TSA workforce, responsibly advancing security technology, strengthening communication with travelers, and addressing cyber-related risks will be essential to the agency’s continued evolution.

“Administrator Cummins brings valuable private-sector transportation experience and a practical understanding of how technology, policy, and operational realities must work together,” said NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna. “NATA is encouraged to see that perspective brought to the agency as it addresses rapidly evolving security challenges. We look forward to working with Administrator Cummins to advance risk-based measures that strengthen security while recognizing the distinct operating environments of general and business aviation.”
