NATA is pleased to see the FAA extend the comment period on a Part 141 modernization report to May 11, following stakeholder calls for additional time to review the report and provide meaningful feedback.
Developed by the National Flight Training Alliance and industry subject matter experts, the report presents a comprehensive, industry-informed roadmap for modernizing pilot training conducted under 14 CFR Part 141 and better aligning it with today’s aviation environment. NATA had urged the agency to provide a longer review period, noting that the original 10-day window was too short for stakeholders to fully evaluate the initiative and prepare thoughtful, data-driven comments as FAA moves through the regulatory process.
Additional time for review is an important step toward ensuring the FAA receives informed input on a proposal with broad relevance across the aviation training sector. NATA encourages flight schools, air charter operators, and other affected members to review the report and send feedback to jjordan@nata.aero to help inform the association’s continued engagement.
