The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has released planning considerations for the general aviation community ahead of the FIFA World Cup, taking place June 12 through July 19, 2026.
TSA anticipates a significant increase in GA traffic and associated ramp congestion at FBOs in host cities during the event. Aircraft operators and FBOs are encouraged to plan logistics early; coordinate flight schedules, ground transportation, parking, ramp reservations, and FBO services in advance; and confirm arrangements prior to arrival.
The guidance also encourages operators to communicate security expectations to passengers ahead of travel, including screening, identity verification, prohibited items, and acceptable forms of identification. TSA reminds operators to comply with applicable security program requirements, monitor NOTAMs and TFRs, allow extra time for screening and boarding, and remain vigilant in reporting suspicious activity.
