The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a $336,000 civil penalty against an operator alleged to have filed inaccurate international flight plans. In a recent FAA press release, the agency stated that 21 flights by the operator were represented as private flights but were in fact commercial charter operations.
The FAA states the operator conducted flights in a careless and reckless manner and further asserts that the company failed to obtain overflight or landing permits for the flights and failed to follow its Oceanic and International Procedures Manual. NATA encourages all operators to ensure their flight plans factually represent their operations and meet all applicable regulatory requirements.
