The U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General released an audit on FAA’s use of flight delay data to monitor National Airspace System performance and identify operational inefficiencies.

Accurate and timely delay data supports FAA’s ability to better understand NAS constraints and make operational improvements across the system. DOT OIG found that FAA uses flight delay data to monitor performance and address inefficiencies, and is taking steps to improve data reliability and timeliness through Wilbur, a system designed to strengthen flight delay data collection and reporting. No new recommendations were issued.
