Get FET Right on Brokered Charter Flights: Webinar Tomorrow

Back NATA News / October 6, 2026

When a broker is involved in a charter transaction, determining how Federal Excise Tax (FET) should be applied, collected, and remitted can become complicated—and mistakes may expose the air carrier to unexpected liability.

On October 7, NATA will host FET on Brokered Flights—Why Is It So Complicated?, a one-hour webinar examining how IRS regulations and guidance apply to brokered transactions. Attendees will gain practical insight into common areas of confusion and procedures that can help reduce audit risk.

Featured speaker Nel Stubbs, founder of Stubbs Aviation Advisors and a member of NATA’s Air Charter Committee, brings four decades of aviation excise tax experience to this important issue.

The webinar is designed for charter personnel responsible for day-to-day tax application and collecting information for quarterly filings, including those without a formal tax background. It is the second installment in NATA’s webinar series helping the Part 135 community better understand the complex tax rules governing aviation.

Registration is free for NATA members and $75 for nonmembers. The nonmember fee will be waived for those who join NATA.
