Public Charter Operators must file several forms and supporting documents with the Department of Transportation (DOT) to obtain approval to conduct their operations. The DOT is requesting reapproval for the existing submissions required from those seeking authority to provide public charter services under 14 CFR part 380.
Federal law requires periodic re-approval of all mandatory information collections. In this instance, those currently authorized to conduct public charters, or those who may apply, are encouraged to review the existing paperwork requirements, including any mandatory DOT forms, and provide comments to the DOT as appropriate. Specifically, the renewal notice seeks comments on the necessity of the collection, accuracy of the estimated burden, and recommendations for improvements or suggestions for minimizing the burden on respondents. The DOT Notice, which includes information on submitting comments, published in the Federal Register on October 5, 2026. The comment deadline is December 4, 2026. NATA will review and submit comments as appropriate.
