FAA Forum Explores New Opportunities for Private Investment in Airports

Back NATA News / October 6, 2026

NATA COO Hector Huezo joined aviation leaders at the Federal Aviation Administration’s “America’s Airports: Unleashing Private Investment” event on September 29 in Washington, D.C., to explore opportunities to advance airport development and strengthen aviation infrastructure.

The event brought together airport executives, operators, investors, and industry representatives to examine how private capital can complement traditional funding sources, with particular attention to infrastructure needs at small and medium hub airports. Discussions addressed funding models, regulatory considerations, and public-private partnerships.

Expanded access to private investment could help accelerate airport improvements and create new opportunities for FBOs, air charter operators, and other aviation businesses to expand facilities and services.
