On January 8, FAA Flight Standards Service issued a Safety Alert for Operators providing information to air carriers and operators on possible impacts of space launch activities that could significantly reduce safety. Air Traffic Control implements certain airspace restrictions and hazard mitigation actions to protect aircraft when there are potential hazards from space launch anomalies. The FAA recommends that operators ensure their crew and dispatch personnel have been trained on the impacts of space launch and reentry operations, allowing them to take steps to mitigate the hazard.
