NATA advocacy continues on behalf of FBOs participating in the Aviation Into-plane Reimbursement (AIR) Card Program as the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Energy aims for an August 1 compliance date for program changes. NATA is working to ensure changes are operationally, technologically, and financially feasible for aviation businesses and the critical missions they support. Key issues include requirements for fully itemized, priced, and signed receipts at every point of sale, as well as the reliability of a new document submission system for receipt uploads.
Progress has been made toward exemptions for rapid refueling and deicing operations incompatible with pilot signature capture, as well as distinguishing between contract and non-contract fuel transactions.

Congress exercises oversight of government fuel card programs; NATA’s Day on the Hill offers a timely opportunity to educate Congress on our industry’s critical support of the Warfighter and ensure changes do not jeopardize that service.
