NATA Celebrates Girls in Aviation Day in Asheville

Back NATA News / May 5, 2026

NATA’s Girls in Aviation Day brought together students from across the Ashville, NC, region last week to explore the many opportunities within aviation.

Through hands-on activities, real-world experiences, and conversations with aviation professionals, students explored a wide range of career paths and saw the aviation industry in action. Their energy, curiosity, and excitement throughout the day demonstrated the impact of introducing young people to the possibilities within our industry.

The event was made possible through the support of Asheville Regional Airport and the Partnership for Appalachian Girls’ Education, along with generous support from Signature Aviation, Paradies Lagardère, and Rockcliff Oral & Facial Surgery. NATA also recognizes the member companies and industry professionals who helped bring aviation careers to life for students, including Stevens Aerospace and West Star Aviation.

Special recognition goes to NATA team members Shannon Chambers, Alexandra Brendel, and Steve Berry for their leadership, dedication, and efforts in planning and carrying out the event. Photos and video from the event are available on NATA’s LinkedIn page.
