Last week, FAA Deputy Administrator Chris Rocheleau announced that he will leave the agency after serving in key leadership roles, including as Acting Administrator during a critical period for the National Airspace System. NATA President and CEO Curt Castagna issued the following statement:

“During his service as Acting Administrator, Chris Rocheleau was the right leader at a critical moment, helping guide the FAA through the aftermath of the tragedy near DCA. His steady presence, depth of experience, and sound judgment provided stability during an exceptionally demanding period.

“Chris carried that same commitment into his role as Deputy Administrator, supporting Administrator Bedford and advancing the agency’s focus on safety and modernization. His deep understanding of aviation businesses and the challenges facing our community was evident in his engagement with NATA members at our events and forums.

“Chris’ commitment to safety, public service, and the people who keep aviation moving is why NATA was proud to recognize him with our 2025 Distinguished Public Service Award. We are grateful for his service to the FAA and our National Airspace System and look forward to continuing our work together on behalf of the business and general aviation industry.”
