NATA Recognizes Signature Aviation Leaders for Exceptional Leadership and Service

Back NATA News / October 21, 2025

NATA is honored to present Adam Cope and Connor Thoreck of Signature Aviation (DCA) with its 2025 Industry Excellence Awards, recognizing their steady leadership, team-centered approach, and composed response during one of the most challenging moments for their airport community.

Adam Cope, General Manager and recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award, has led Signature Aviation at Washington Reagan National Airport for 30 years with a focus on preparation, professionalism, and mentorship. His leadership was especially evident during the January 29 air disaster, when he guided his team in supporting emergency operations while maintaining safety and restoring business continuity.

Connor Thoreck, Operations Manager, earned NATA’s Future Leader Award for his initiative, teamwork, and calm under pressure. After rising quickly from line service technician to leader, Thoreck demonstrated professionalism during the incident and continues to inspire colleagues with his commitment to service and collaboration.

“NATA is proud to recognize leaders who reflect the strength, resilience, and values of our industry,” said NATA President & CEO Curt Castagna. Signature COO Brad Williams added, “Adam and Connor lead with compassion and competence—before, during, and after the crisis.”

Cope and Thoreck will be recognized during NATA’s 2025 Aviation Business Conference in Dallas, Texas, on November 18, 2025. Tickets for the luncheon are available for purchase and are also included in the conference registration.
