Back NATA News / March 3, 2026

NATA has completed a full staff rollout of its Human Trafficking Awareness in Aviation Certification, with 100% of the NATA team finishing the course. The training strengthens situational awareness and reinforces practical steps aviation professionals can take to recognize and report indicators of human trafficking in and around aviation facilities and travel activity. Human trafficking awareness is a shared responsibility across the aviation ecosystem, and consistent training helps ensure employees at every level know what to look for, how to document concerns, and how to elevate issues through the appropriate channels. NATA’s internal training milestone reflects a commitment to building a culture of vigilance and preparedness, while supporting broader national efforts to increase awareness and improve reporting.

NATA encourages member companies and industry partners to prioritize human trafficking awareness training for customer-facing and operational personnel, including line service, customer service, dispatch, scheduling, maintenance, and management teams. To make implementation straightforward for Safety 1st subscribers, the certification is delivered fully online through the Safety 1st Training Center and integrates easily into existing training, safety, and compliance programs. Human Trafficking Awareness in Aviation Certification is available at no additional cost and can be assigned immediately.
