NATA Urges Senate to Pass EXPIRE Act

NATA, the U.S. Chamber, NAM and other 149 associations wrote to the Senate today urging quick passage of the tax extenders bill. The Senate legislation includes over 50 tax provisions that routinely expire and are subsequently renewed by Congress. Among those expired provisions is bonus depreciation that allows businesses to immediately deduct half of their investment in new equipment and software. The Senate legislation proposes to renew these expired provisions, including bonus depreciation, for two years in order to create time for the congressional tax writing committees to draft a comprehensive tax reform bill.
