Tonight, the U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly to advance bipartisan, bicameral FAA Reauthorization legislation, a critical step toward final passage of the transformational Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act (H.R. 3935). With the first General Aviation Title in history, this bill recognizes our industry’s vital role in supporting innovation and encouraging entry into the aviation workforce.

NATA is pleased to report that the legislation includes many of our priorities on overall FAA modernization, FAA efficiency for 135 certification and oversight, airport investment, AAM deployment, provisions for a safe transition to unleaded avgas, and more. The bill is also clear of anti-FBO/airport policies related to FBO pricing practices and transient aircraft parking.

Chairs Maria Cantwell (D, WA) and Sam Graves (R, MO) and Ranking Members Ted Cruz (R, TX) and Rick Larsen (D, WA) pursued bipartisan, common-sense policies throughout the FAA Reauthorization process to ensure the continued safety, security, and success of the National Airspace System.”  

With FAA authorization set to expire tomorrow at midnight, the Senate also passed a one-week extension, allowing time for final House approval and the President’s signature next week.
