What’s at Issue

Leaders in the U.S. Senate reached an agreement on a long-term FAA reauthorization bill late yesterday.

According to Capitol Hill staff, the accord includes the Senate Finance Committee provision to increase Jet A to 36 cents per gallon but removes the $25 flight fee for general aviation operations included within the Senate Commerce Committee bill.

Senator John D. Rockefeller, Chairman of the Senate Aviation Subcomittee, has issued a press release on the agreement that outlines some of the preliminary accord details.

While final details on the overall Senate FAA Reauthorization bill are now being reviewed, the association anticipates the bill to be on the Senate floor early next week.

Further details about the Senate measure will be provided in Monday’s edition of NATA News.
