Member Update
We are announcing today that NATA executive vice president Jim Coon is leaving NATA to become AOPA’s senior vice president of government affairs and advocacy. For the past year, NATA benefitted greatly from Jim’s talent, extensive network and leadership. In 2013, Jim was instrumental in raising NATA’s profile through notable successes including; enabling progress on the IRS Federal Excise Tax issue for charter operators, helping to stop the shuttering of contract towers and ensuring NATA’s testimony before key Congressional committees. We appreciate Jim’s many accomplishments and are very pleased that Jim will remain a strong advocate for general aviation in his new role. We recognize the unique opportunity this presents for the entire general aviation community and look forward to continuing our close working relationship with all GA associations to ensure that our nation’s policymakers remain keenly aware of the vital role of General Aviation. NATA will begin a search in early 2014 to fill Jim’s position.
