NATA Pledges to Support Efforts to Eliminate Human Trafficking

This week, NATA signed a pledge, “Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking,” that aims to raise awareness among the traveling public by utilizing common messaging in targeted outreach campaigns. The U.S. Department of Transportation reached out to leaders across all modes of transportation to garner support for this important effort. NATA’s Vice President of Government and Public Affairs Jonathon Freye will represent the Association and its members - many of whom are already taking proactive steps in eliminating human trafficking - at a kickoff event tomorrow at DOT headquarters. The Association is working with NATA Compliance Services to proliferate awareness and access to training by making it available in our industry-leading Safety 1st Training Center platform.

Multiple Certificates Could Mean Multiple Drug Programs

Verify with the FAA prior to combining your D&A testing programs!

It may be possible for a single company operating under multiple certificates to combine their drug and alcohol testing programs. Certain requirements must be met, especially if combining part 135 and 145 testing programs, or combining part 121 or part 135 with part 91.147.

If combining the drug programs is permissible, the operator must first contact its appropriate FAA inspector and the FAA Abatement Division to ensure the right records are updated before maintaining the combined program.
