FAA Updates Guidance on UAS and AAM Certification and Oversight

The FAA has issued Notice 8900.777, Certification and Oversight of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Advanced Air Mobility Aircraft, providing updated guidance related to FAA certification and oversight of UAS and AAM aircraft.

The notice may be relevant to NATA members involved in UAS or Advanced Air Mobility operations, certification, training, or maintenance, including organizations operating or supporting activities under Parts 91, 135, 141, and 142, as well as Part 145 repair stations.

Members active in emerging aviation segments, or preparing to support them, should review the guidance to determine whether it affects operational planning, training programs, certification activity, maintenance support, or coordination with the FAA.
