The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is monitoring Hurricane Dorian closely and preparing FAA facilities and equipment (PDF) along the southeast coast of Florida to withstand potential damage so flights can quickly resume after the storm passes. Click here for the latest FAA update.

Hurricane Dorian Exigency Order of September 2, 2019 - Under the Exigency Order, hurricane relief supplies can be imported into The Bahamas duty free and VAT free based on the conditions outlined in the Order.

Banyan Air Service at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport
As in the past, the Banyan team is ready to assist those that would like to send or fly aid to the Bahamas. As an official "Gateway to the Bahamas FBO," we are working with the Bahamas National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) through the Bahamas Tourist and Aviation Office.

Hawthorne Global Aviation Services at KRYY is partnering with local aircraft owners and providing Hangar storage for supplies and logistical support in loading supplies onto relief aircraft departing from metro-Atlanta to the Abaco Islands. Hawthorne will also initially be supporting this effort with fuel for these flights. More information. Contact:

Jetscape FLL will be actively supporting the air distribution of supplies with a fuel discount to all aircraft conducting relief flights. There are many ways to help and Jetscape wants to give you options to collaborate with economic donations or collecting much needed supplies. You can donate here.

The South Florida Business Aviation Association released a list of needed supplies along with drop-off locations in South Florida - many of whom are NATA members. 

It seems all FBOs in South Florida are willing to waive fees and provide fuel discounts to those interested in participating in relief flights!


NATA Members impacted by Hurricane Dorian should call the association at (800) 808-6282 and select 1 for help in locating assistance.

NATA will be updating this page with information on flight restrictions and aid organizations should it become necessary. NATA members are advised to take appropriate precautions in planning any trips to areas in the projected path of Hurricane Dorian.
