On September 10, 2020 NATA unveiled the official schedule for its Legacy Safety 1st System’s retirement and recent expansion of the new Safety 1st Training Center (SFTC). The announcement was made ahead of the December 31, 2020 end of life for Adobe’s Flash Player – the technology powering NATA’s Legacy Safety 1st System.
With the availability of the SFTC and the impending end of life for Flash Player, NATA will begin phasing out the “Legacy” Safety 1st system in September, using the following schedule:
- September 30, 2020 – New companies will NOT be added to the Legacy system.
- October 31, 2020 – Purchasing of Legacy “seats” (course licenses) will be disabled. However, companies can continue to assign any licenses held in their account.
- December 1, 2020 – New assignments will NOT be allowed. Although, administrators can continue to access the system for records management purposes. Students currently training in the Legacy system must complete their assignment(s) by December 31, 2020.
- January 1, 2021 - June 1, 2023 – The legacy system will continue to be available to administrators for records management, during this period.
The new Safety 1st Training Center provides unlimited-use training for one annual, fixed payment, with no additional cost associated with employee turnover. With monthly and quarterly payments available and a dollar for dollar credit on legacy training purchased in the last six months, the new Safety 1st Training Center is powerful and affordable.
