nullNATA Safety 1st Updates Training to Meet December OSHA Deadline

NATA is pleased to announce the availability of its recently revised online NATA Safety 1st Hazardous Communications (HazCom) training program. In 2012, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) finalized rule changes aligning its HazCom Standard with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). OSHA has required that employers train their employees on the new label elements and safety data sheet format contained within the rule by December 1, 2013. Employers can now utilize the revised NATA Safety 1st HazCom module to meet this critical deadline for training employees. The NATA Airline Services Council will meet September 17-18 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Arlington, VA. Issues to be addressed include third party screening, airport badging, civil penalties, international garbage standards, and more. nullSenator John Thune Holds Roundtable To Recognize Importance of General Aviation to South Dakota

On August 13, 2013, South Dakota Senator John Thune held a roundtable with aviation stakeholders, airline representatives and local leaders who discussed the industry and answered questions from the public. As Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, Senator Thune values the partnership he has with aviation stakeholders and local leaders and is always supportive of aviation, including general aviation. “General aviation and community airports are a great resource to South Dakota and to the country, providing business opportunities and protecting public safety,” Senator Thune stated during the roundtable. In a press release from the event, Senator Thune reaffirmed that while there can be frustrations when it comes to air travel, maintaining connectivity through safe, reliable and affordable air service is vital to South Dakota’s growing economy.
