On Wednesday, August 28, NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks visited Napa Jet Center, in Napa, CA, for a Town Hall Meeting with local aviation businesses and enthusiasts to discuss local and national issues affecting general aviation, and what NATA is doing to support the industry in Washington. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has set a deadline of December 1, 2013 for training of employees on the 2012 changes to the Hazard Communications (HazCom) Standard. nullArkansas Mayors Declare August General Aviation Appreciation Month

Three Arkansas Mayors have joined Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe in recognizing the importance of general aviation to towns and cities across the state. Mayor Bob McCaslin of Bentonville, Mayor Stewart Nelson of Morrilton and Mayor Rick Elumbaugh of Batesville all signed proclamations in their cities declaring August as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” The Mayors’ proclamations come just after Governor Beebe signed a proclamation on July 24, 2013 discussing general aviation’s contributions to the state economy, businesses and communities. Across the Land of Opportunity, general aviation supports 5,400 jobs and contributes nearly $500 million to the state’s economy each year.
