NATA Aviation Leadership Conference Takes Place this Week

On Wednesday, senior executives of the NATA membership will gather in Washington, DC, for the association’s annual Aviation Leadership Conference. The Conference kicks off with a breakfast award presentation to FAA Administrator Michael Huerta followed by his keynote address. Panels will include Representatives Rick Larsen and Steve Russell discussing ATC privatization, and industry analyst Richard Aboulafia on the state of the aviation business sector.

 
  
 


NATA Safety 1st Is Seeking Member Photos of Ground Handling Operations

NATA Safety 1st is currently redeveloping its online training content to incorporate improvements and new features suggested by our members and users. As part of this process, we are seeking new photographs of ground handling activities. National Air Transportation Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications

 

NATA awards several scholarships throughout the year to aviation college/university program and flight training students — as well as to association members looking to continue their education. The National Air Transportation Foundation (NATF) is currently accepting applications for: The Pioneers of Flight Scholarship, The Dan L. Meisinger Sr. Memorial Learn to Fly Scholarship and The NATA Business Scholarship. Multiple awards are available from $1,000 to $2,500 with application deadlines in November and December of 2017. Final 2017 Advanced Line Service Workshop Takes Place Next Week in Ft. Myers, FL

 

On November 14th and 15th, NATA will hold its final 2017 Advanced Line Service (ALS) Workshop at Base Operations Page Field in Fort Myers, FL. This popular two-day workshop includes discussions on motivation and leadership techniques, customer service training and the impact of human factors on aviation ground handling. Attendees will also learn about advanced aviation fuel handling and quality control, including hands-on training. Register now for the November ALS Workshop in Fort Myers, FL!

Avfuel and Sheltair Renew Branding Partnership

 

Avfuel Corporation and Sheltair recently announced their renewed partnership effective December 1, 2017. The agreement with Sheltair means Avfuel will continue to brand all 17 of its FBOs, including 11 FBOs in Florida: Daytona Beach (DAB), Panama City (ECP), Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Jacksonville (JAX), Lakeland (LAL), Orlando (ORL), Ocala (OCF), St. Petersburg (PIE), Pompano Beach (PMP), St. Petersburg (SPG) and Tampa (TPA)—one in Georgia: Savannah (SAV)—and five in New York: Westhampton Beach (FOK), Farmingdale (FRG), Islip (ISP), and New York City (JFK & LGA). New Gary Airport Flight Center in Indiana Aimed at Corporate Travel

 

The new Gary Jet Center facility includes a glass-walled, 45-seat lobby, along with crew lounges, a business center, sleeping rooms and kitchen facilities. Jet Center President Lynn Eplawy tells The (Northwest Indiana) Times the new facility is aimed at providing a first-class experience for corporate and general aviation customers. The Jet Center provides fueling, maintenance, aircraft management and hospitality services for private and business aviation at the airport. The flight center completion comes two years after the Gary airport finished a $174 million project that included extending its main runway to nearly 9,000 feet. Read more.

Register now for the 2018 Air Charter Safety Foundation Safety Symposium at the NTSB Training Center in Ashburn, VA. The event takes place March 13-14, 2018. The Symposium is the annual gathering of the air charter and business aviation industry where current and emerging safety challenges are reviewed and discussed.
