Hendricks to Speak Before House Aviation Subcommittee
On Wednesday, October 30th, NATA President and CEO Thomas L. Hendricks will sit before the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation, in a hearing chaired by Rep. Frank LoBiondo (R-NJ), to discuss the FAA’s certification process. The hearing, titled “Review of FAA’s Certification Process: Ensuring an Efficient, Effective, and Safe Process,” will focus on the progress the FAA has made in implementing provisions in the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, which require the agency to develop plans to streamline their certification processes and address regional inconsistencies while maintaining the highest level of safety. Mr. Hendricks will address the subcommittee along with the heads of the Aerospace Industries Association, the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists.
NATA Urges Support for Contract Tower Program
NATA, along with other aviation industry groups, urged House and Senate appropriators to provide funding for the Contract Tower Program as they work towards a FY14 FAA funding resolution. Click here for letter.
NATA President Participated on Leadership Panel at NBAA
NATA President and CEO Tom Hendricks joined NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen and other industry leaders to discuss issues affecting our industry last Wednesday at the Second Day General Session of the NBAA conference. Hendricks discussed the importance of aligning to speak as one voice as an industry as well as the benefits of industry collaboration with regulators as demonstrated by the FAA’s NextGen Advisory Committee. Huerta and Pistole Confirmed for Aviation Business Roundtable
NATA’s Aviation Business Roundtable takes place November 13-14, 2013, in Arlington, Virginia. The Roundtable assembles business executives from all segments of the aviation community and provides a unique opportunity to discuss important and relevant issues with key Administration officials including FAA Administrator Michael Huerta and TSA Administrator John Pistole, Members of Congress, and other top industry leaders. NATA Business Scholarship – December Deadline
NATA is dedicated to promoting safety, professionalism, education and training as a means for individuals to advance their careers. The NATA Business Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, is to be used for continuing education for employees of NATA member companies. All applicable studies should be directly related to furthering the skills applicable to working at an FBO, charter company, maintenance facility or flight school.
Interested students must complete an application and submit it along with two letters of recommendation, and an essay on career goals in general aviation NO LATER than the last Friday in December. For more information, please visit http://www.nata.aero/scholarships.
Landmark Aviation Holds SAN Location Groundbreaking
Landmark Aviation held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 17th for its new San Diego International Airport facility. Landmark Aviation will design, build and operate a new, state-of-the-art FBO campus, with a 20,000 square foot terminal, a 250,000 square foot ramp and five hangars on 12.4 acres of airfield.
JFI Jets Joins EPIC FBO Network
JFI Jets has announced that its JFI JetCenter in Long Beach, Calif., has joined the Epic FBO Network. It has also become an Epic Aviation and UVair branded fuel reseller, and its customers can now earn Bravo Rewards and use the Epic card at Long Beach, said the company.
