Senate Returns to Debate Tax Legislation Containing Important Provision for Aircraft Management Service Companies
|
|
The U.S. Senate returns from its Thanksgiving recess today and will begin debate on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, legislation to reform the nation’s tax code. The legislation contains a provision, sought by NATA, clarifying that aircraft management services are not subject to air transportation taxes. Last week, NATA briefed numerous press outlets on the provision, addressing charges the provision represents a “tax break for private jets.”

NATA Safety 1st Launches Subscription Based Pricing | New Podcast

In response to member and user feedback, NATA is revamping pricing for its industry standard Safety 1st program to provide companies with the flexibility to address employee turnover, training more employees across a wider range of subjects in a manner that is easier for businesses to budget. In NATA’s latest podcast edition, NATA’s Managing Director, Safety & Training, Mike France, discusses the origin and benefits of this exciting new program, including reducing the cost of employee turnover.

Registration Open for Phoenix 2018 Advanced Line Service Workshop
|
|
In 2018, NATA Safety 1st will continue to offer its unique mix of technical and service training at locations across the country. These popular two-day workshops include discussions on motivation and leadership techniques, customer service training and the impact of human factors on aviation ground handling. Attendees will also learn about advanced aviation fuel handling and quality control, including hands-on training. The Advanced Line Service Workshop is designed for Line Service Professionals who are experienced or relatively new to the industry. This program can assist managers, owners and even customer service representatives with knowledge and skills that will help them excel at work. NATA Safety 1st Seeking Member Photos of Ground Handling Operations

NATA Safety 1st is currently redeveloping its online training content to incorporate improvements and new features suggested by our members and users. As part of this process, we are seeking new photographs of ground handling activities. National Air Transportation Foundation Accepting Scholarship Applications
|
|
NATA awards several scholarships throughout the year to aviation college/university program and flight training students — as well as to association members looking to continue their education. The National Air Transportation Foundation (NATF) is currently accepting applications for: The Pioneers of Flight Scholarship, The Dan L. Meisinger Sr. Memorial Learn to Fly Scholarship and The NATA Business Scholarship. Multiple awards are available from $1,000 to $2,500 with application deadlines in November and December of 2017. NATA will soon call for nominations to acknowledge the individuals, offices and organizations demonstrating excellence in the general aviation community. Each year, NATA presents awards to the exceptional individuals and companies that have helped to improve the general aviation community. The recipients of the Industry Excellence Awards are chosen based upon NATA member-submitted nominations. The Aviation Maintenance Technician Employer Award program is open to any full-time aircraft and/or components maintenance or repair business or other entity that conducts aviation maintenance and supports aviation maintenance technician (AMT) training. Sheltair To Add Hangar at Northwest Florida Location
|
|
Citing current and anticipated aircraft storage needs at its Panama City, Florida, location, Sheltair expects to break ground next month on a new 20,000-sq-ft hangar, which will be able to accommodate the latest large-cabin business jets, and more than triple the site's current aircraft storage space. The $2 million, nine-month project will also add an acre of ramp and 100 extra car parking spaces to the facility, the lone service provider at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP). Luxaviation Group Enters U.S. FBO Market by Joining Forces with The Paragon Network™

Last week, Luxaviation Group announced a strategic collaboration with US Paragon Aviation Group™, the facilitator of The Paragon Network™, creating a FBO network of 52 FBOs around the world of which 25 are in the USA. The strategic collaboration includes Luxaviation Group FBO management company, ExecuJet, Paragon Aviation Group™ and BAA (owned by CMIG Aviation and part of the China Minsheng Investment Group), which provides high-level aircraft management services for business jet owners in the Greater China region. The ExecuJet Fixed Based Operators (FBOs) will join the Paragon Network™ in the coming months, herewith doubling the size of the Paragon Network™ and providing a substantial international presence.
